Start speaking
- Install EnterSpeak through your existing TestFlight invitation. Open the app and allow microphone access when prompted.
- Choose your region and the languages you use, then download a compatible Everyday or Precision package.
- Wait for download and preparation to finish. Start dictation, speak, then stop to review your text.
First setup needs internet access and enough storage. Once a compatible package is ready, speech recognition and text processing run on your device.
Use EnterSpeak in other apps
- Open iPhone Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard, then choose EnterSpeak.
- Open the EnterSpeak keyboard settings and enable Allow Full Access for communication with the main app.
- Open EnterSpeak and activate the ten-minute microphone session. Return to your other app, select a text field and switch keyboards using the globe key.
- Tap the microphone in the EnterSpeak keyboard. When processing finishes, check the inserted text. If automatic insertion does not occur, use the available insert action or copy the result from the main app.
iOS does not let a third-party keyboard record directly. The main app supplies the active microphone session. When it expires, reopen EnterSpeak to enable it again. Some apps, password fields and other secure fields do not allow third-party keyboards.
Downloads and offline setup
Use the Download tab to install Everyday, Precision, or both compatible packages. Precision requires at least 8 GB RAM; available packages also depend on your device and selected languages.
Leave enough free storage and use a stable connection. Downloads can continue in the background, but iOS controls scheduling. Force-quitting the app, limited storage, Low Power Mode or a lost connection can delay progress. Reopen EnterSpeak to resume and check preparation status. Some first-time model preparation may require the app to stay open.
Wait until the package is ready before trying airplane mode. iCloud sync, new downloads, updates and purchase or restore operations still need a connection.
Cantonese and English together
In Settings, select Hong Kong and Cantonese + English if those match how you speak. Try: 聽日有 meeting，send 個 agenda 俾我，唔該。
Speak at a natural pace in a quiet space. Check that English words stay in English and that the result is not repeated. A different compatible package may give different results. Recognition is not guaranteed; review names, numbers and important wording.
Correct a sentence
After transcription, choose Correct transcript from the result or a History entry. Compare the original with your edited sentence. Plus or retained early-user access can save corrections; Free can edit and copy a temporary draft without saving it.
A saved sentence correction updates that history record and preserves the original transcription. It does not retrain the speech model. Dictionary replacement rules are a separate feature.
Free, Plus and purchases
New Free installations include 30 successful AI speech-to-text uses per week, per device. App dictation, imported recordings and keyboard dictation share the allowance. Failed recognition does not count. Free includes local history and copy, but not saved custom corrections or iCloud sync.
Plus is designed to provide unlimited speech-to-text, saved corrections and optional iCloud history sync, with monthly and annual billing. Purchases are not enabled in the current 0.8.0 beta. Early installations may keep previously granted access. The separately distributed Mac edition has separate access rights.
When purchases are available, use Settings → Plans & subscription → Restore purchases with the same Apple Account. For cancellation, see Apple’s subscription instructions. For refund requests, use Apple’s Report a Problem service; eligibility is determined by Apple.
History and iCloud
History is saved locally. With Plus or retained access, you can opt in to syncing history with the same iCloud account on compatible EnterSpeak installations. Keep the app open and online until sync completes.
Switching sync off keeps existing local and iCloud records. Deleting a record locally reaches iCloud only when sync can run successfully. Subscription expiry does not erase your history. See the privacy policy for deletion and storage details.
